RM18. Dúplex in Alboraia
After a few years in the city, Empar returns to live in the Horta Nord region. The remains of the restored house are left as specific ornaments that dialogue with contemporary languages and materials, as an accumulation of layers that form the memory of the home. The colors of the furniture and walls are recovered from the typical tiles of the area, the macael marble that we find in the old laundry room is extended to all possible surfaces and the textures of the concrete structure and ceramic ceiling are discovered.
As it is a narrow and elongated house, we propose an intervention with a triangular kitchen that allows three-way conversations, including the neighbor in front. We generate visuals and diagonal routes that unmount the tubular vision and make the house a fluid and stimulating space.
